With more than 20 years of broad management experience including
sales, marketing, venture capital, operations and technology in the
data communications, services and telecommunications industries,
Frank Koopman is a well-known veteran and a seasoned entrepreneur
and strategist.
As chief
executive officer of Hopling Networks, Frank is responsible for the
formulation and execution of the company's overall strategy, which
focuses on near- and longer-term growth opportunities for the
company. The company is currently a leading provider of wireless
networking equipment for enterprises, operators and service
providers, worldwide.
Frank was appointed chief executive officer of UMX Technologies in July 2002. He was responsible for the day-to-day
global operations of the company and setting the company's strategic
direction.
Under his leadership UMX Technologies became a fast growing
and
highly innovative global company dedicated to become the
world-leading provider of mainframe solutions for Intel-based
computers.
Prior of joining UMX Technologies, Frank took on the challenge of
managing director of Global Crossing Benelux from June 1999 until
March 2002, building a new tier-1 carrier from scratch. Upon
completion of the network he led an aggressive growth plan to
strengthen the company's position as a premier provider of managed
services, enhanced services solutions for carriers and business
solutions for corporate organizations. Frank was responsible for
managing the entire spectrum of the Global Crossing's operations throughout the Benelux.
He also initiated Global Center in the Netherlands; Global
Crossing’s worldwide managed services (web hosting) company.
Frank previously
served as
vice president
contact center solutions of Vicorp, where he was responsible for Vicorp’s
worldwide strategy to capitalize on the changing role of contact
centers as a
strategic competitive advantage that not only allows a company to
provide superior customers services, but also to grow its business.
This followed three years, initially as managing director Vicorp
Nederland, where he was responsible for a significant increase in
revenue. Later he became, as regional director, responsible for the
central European region, where he implemented a restructuring for
the German- and France-operations which resulted in a turnaround in
profit margins.
In addition he served as a member of the European board and vice
president sales & marketing for Vicorp Europe.
Earlier in his career, he worked for several years in various
executive management positions in consultancy, sales and sales
support at Datapoint. Frank began his career with Neddata (IT
company of the Royal Nedlloyd Group). During his 10 years, he held a
wide range of IT positions.
Over the years Frank received several sales awards and awards for
delivering superior performance, both individually and as part of a
team.
