Mobile
Solutions are based on a centralized
architecture.
The
Xfire Hopgate
provides
secure management access to the Internet using Virtual
Gateway technology, Bandwidth Management per user per
session, Firewall capabilities and VPN client-services.
Addressing,
management, roaming, compression and security of a
Mobile Solution, based on the outdoor
Xnet Viper
multi-radio mesh node, can be managed using the
Xfire Hopman
network element manager, Hopling Technologies central
management server. Although the mesh network can run
standalone, it is advisable to have a centralized
management server when the network grows above a dozen
nodes. Every node requires separate control channel
running from the mesh node to the central management
server. Through this control channel the management
server is able to communicate directly to each node.
Each control channel terminates on the
Xfire Hoptun
- VPN
Tunnel Terminator.
As an addition the company offers the
Xfire Hopbase
network
services manager, a web portal that provides functions
such as Database-, DNS-, Login-, Radius-, VPN-services,

Quality of Services explained
Hopling Technologies has
implemented Wireless Multimedia (WMM) on its base stations and
nodes running HopWARE v3.0 or higher. WMM enables base stations
and nodes to prioritize traffic and optimizes the way shared
network resources are allocated among different applications.
WMM identifies four access classes; background, best-effort,
video, and voice.
Mesh Routing explained
Hopling Technologies wireless equipment uses the HopWARE Mesh Architecture (HMA) for the creation of
large-scale wireless citywide networks. As part of Hopling
Technologies’ HopWARE Mesh Architecture, the patented Hopling Discovery
Protocol, including HDP Visual, is specifically designed for massive wireless network
environments. The protocol enables a remote node to automatically
and dynamically select the best data path among other nodes within
the mesh coverage area. This provides greater data resiliency to
radio frequency interference and helps to ensure optimal mesh
network capacity. As new nodes are added to expand the deployed
network, each node dynamically adjusts data routing schemes for
maximum efficiency.
The Xnet Viper nodes are also equipped with the Virtual Gateway allowing a
mesh network solution
to be segmented
into multiple wireless networks.
