Hopling Technologies Announces
HopWARE v3.1.5
Enhances the Hopling Mesh Protocol (HMP) to deliver
state-of-the-art next-generation mesh networks.
Delivers full automatic mesh nodes
deployments, using the Hopling Automatic Mesh (HAM)
application based on the Hopling Discovery Protocol (HDP).
Almere,
June 13, 2007 - Hopling Technologies, a rapidly growing leader
in IP-based wireless networking equipment for enterprises,
operators and service providers, today announced a significant
software release update for its popular WIMAX ready Xnet Viper
family of mesh nodes for wireless broadband solutions, that
enables a new class of mobile applications, delivers improved
network service and helps reduce the complexity and cost of
wireless mesh network deployments.
Designed for service providers, municipalities, public safety
and transportation organizations and enterprises, HopWARE v3.1.5
enhances the Hopling Mesh Protocol (HMP) with its full mesh
function and the unique capability of using a random mix of
2.3-2.6GHz, 3.4-3.7GHz, 4.9GHz, 5GHz, 900MHz radio-cards
enabling automatic coverage for seamless wireless networks,
whereas all 4 radio-cards in the WiMAX ready Xnet Viper mesh
nodes can be used in any wireless Mesh and/or wireless Access
combination without the need for separate hardware devices.
HopWARE 3.1.5 includes the industry-first patent pending
application Hopling Auto Mesh (HAM) based on the Hopling
Discovery Protocol (HDP), which automatically detects and
configures, without any manual interaction, mesh nodes in a
service provider network. An important advantage of such an
almost unattended implementation is the speed of the
installation and the improved service quality. The Xfire Hopgate
access controller, Xnet Mark-I node and Xnet Viper nodes are all
standard equipped with HDP Visual, which displays a graphical
representation of the mesh network including optional GPS
mapping.
In addition, Hopling Technologies released the HopWARE Antenna
Connect program, a new robust and carrier-grade product-line of
antennas. The HopWARE Antenna Connect program consists of a
whole range of in-building-, omni-, sector-, directional-,
public safety-, parabolic-antennas for the 2.3-2.6GHz, 3.4-3.7GHz, 4.9GHz, 5GHz, 900MHz bands to ensure compatibility
and performance. All antennas are subjected to Hopling
Technologies’ rigorous real-world testing certification
criteria, allowing partners and customers a choice of connecting
with more confidence.
“We continue to enhance and improve our HopWARE software for the
mesh node product-line,” said Bas Muns, Director of Engineering
of Hopling Technologies. “This latest addition of the HopWARE
software gives our customers a huge time-to-market advantage
over customers using the competition.”
Also available as an option to customers is the HopWARE Power
Interface suitable for Xnet Mark nodes and the Xnet Viper nodes
using 802.3af industry-standard PoE switches and Cisco, 3Com,
etc. PoE switches.
The HopWARE v3.1.5 software will be commercial available
immediately. HopWARE v3.1.5 is available for the Xfire Hopgate
network access controller, Xfire Hoptun VPN tunnel terminator,
Xspot gateway and access point for intelligent hotspots, Xspot
UMTS, Xspot 3G+, Xnet Mark-I nodes for mesh network solutions
and the WiMAX ready Xnet Viper nodes; the heart of a
next-generation based citywide mesh network solution.
Existing customers can receive the new software release from
Hopling Technologies at no additional cost. HopWARE 3.1.5 is
like all Hopling Technologies software releases backwards
compatible and can be used to upgrade existing access points and
mesh routers (e.g. the Xnet Mark-I and the Xnet Mark-II nodes).
