Almere,
March 23, 2006 - Hopling Technologies, a fast growing technology
leader in IP-based wireless networking equipment for enterprises,
operators and service providers, and WebNet CWN today announced the
signing of a contract, worth a minimum of 1 million euro per year,
by which Hopling will provide WebNet CWN with
instant-ready-to-operate wireless metropolitan area network
solutions for the North- and South-American markets, using Hopling
Technologies wireless mesh routing architecture based on the Hopling
Mesh Protocol (HMP).
This contract represents an important step for WebNet CWN in its
plans for building a dynamic Converged Wireless Network throughout
North-America. WebNet
CWN is poised to become a leading provider of High Speed Internet,
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Internet Protocol Mobile (IP
Mobile), IPTV (On Demand), Security, Video-Conferencing and many
other digital products and services. WebNet CWN network consists of
converged wireless "Footprints" and VoIP origination and termination
Points of Presence (POP’s). The wireless mesh network will be
managed by WebNet CWN’s new Network Operations Management Center in
Las Vegas.
Hopling Technologies
also announced the appointment of StarMesh Technologies, a WebNet
CWN company, to distribute its range of wireless mesh network
equipment. Hopling Technologies and StarMesh Technologies will now
offer the opportunity of selling proven
wireless
metropolitan area network solutions
to partners across
North- and South-America.
"WebNet CWN will deliver high quality,
innovative converged wireless products and services at cost
effective pricing while taking customers beyond the current physical
boundaries of their existing technology. The network will
concentrate its marketing efforts on areas were converged wireless
services are limited, or do not exist," said Gregory Carrington,
Chief Executive Officer of WebNet CWN. “By using Hopling
Technologies wireless mesh routing architecture WebNet CWN leverages
the advantages of WiFi such as affordable access, mobility, high
throughput, and the ubiquitous of wirelessly enabled client
devices.”
Robert Veltman
President of StarMesh Technologies added, "We are excited about this
partnership with Hopling Technologies to distribute their
unparalleled
mesh based
solutions. With Hopling
Technologies basket of global, technologically superior solutions we
hope to unlock the vast new opportunities in the North- and
South-American markets."
Hopling Technologies self-healing
wireless technology maximizes the wireless network capabilities.
Every node acts as node for every other node in the wireless meshed
network. The result is a robust interconnected network that
automatically routes around congestion, failures and line-of-sight
obstacles.
"We are absolutely delighted to get
this vote of confidence from WebNet CWN," said Frank Koopman, Chief
Executive Officer of Hopling Technologies. "WebNet CWN has very high
standards when it comes to network requirements: they need
availability, mobility, flexibility, scalability, security,
dependability and more. Our carrier-grade wireless mesh network
equipment has all of these attributes and this is basically the
reason why WebNet CWN chose to work with Hopling Technologies."
