New Xspot 3G+
gateway and access point with HSDPA 3.5G backhaul.
Almere, March 27, 2007
- Hopling Technologies, a fast growing technology leader in
IP-based wireless networking equipment for enterprises,
operators and service providers, is pleased to announce the
immediate availability and release of the enhanced Xspot
UMTS and the new Xspot 3G+.
The Xspot 3G+ is an intelligent cost-effective complete
hybrid wireless solution, offering companies a powerful way
to capitalize on the combined benefits of HSDPA or UMTS/EDGE/GRPS
connectivity and wireless solutions. The enhanced Xspot UMTS
has an improved web interface, giving the customers insight
in the status of the backhaul connection and allowing easy
configuration of the UMTS parameters.
On a HSDPA network, the Xspot 3G+ enables connection to the
wireless Internet at data speeds of up to 1.8Mbs. The Xspot
3G+ is the ideal companion for the mobile professional
enabling Internet, email and office applications with
real-time secure VPN access to corporate applications whilst
on the move.
By using the Xspot 3G+, customers can really access
information anytime, anywhere. The most important task of
the Xspot 3G+ is to take advantage of wirelessly enabled
computers, notebooks, PDA’s or mobile phones and provide
them with wireless access by using a HSDPA network. In areas
where HSDPA service is not available the Xspot 3G+ still
enables reliable and secure data connections over UMTS at up
to 384kbs, EDGE (up to 247kbs) and GPRS at up to 85.6kbs.
The standards–based Xspot UMTS and Xspot 3G+ interoperate in
today’s multi–vendor environments, providing the necessary
bandwidth for wireless customers as the mobile broadband
infrastructure evolves.
“With these new and enhanced products we are targeting
companies who are strategically committed to UMTS and 3.5G,”
said Aad van Diepen, Vice President Global Services of
Hopling Technologies. “We also expect deployments on larger
building sites for project development or maintenance
programs for e.g. refineries. There is already a huge
interest from holiday locations.”
“The Xspot 3G product family is ideally suited for use in
areas where Internet via a computer or PDA is desired and
needed but not available due to the lack of ADSL or cable.
It’s an economical way to share the 3G bandwidth via one
device,” said Bas Muns, Director of Engineering of Hopling
Technologies.
The enhanced Xspot UMTS
and the new Xspot 3G+ are readily available.
